What is KPO?
Knowledge process outsourcing is a form of outsourcing in which high value, knowledge- and information-related business operations and processes - such as market analysis, market research, equity research, data gathering and processing, financial analysis, and due diligence--are performed by a third party firm. KPO firms typically have teams of highly skilled professionals with specific knowledge and backgrounds. Many view KPO as the mature cousin of BPO, or business process outsourcing, which is typically associated with outsourced call centers and similar functions.

- Bob Gates is the CEO & Co-founder of 3R-Data. Previously, Bob founded the Shanghai and Tokyo offices of Gerson Lehrman Group, an expert network firm, where he led expert network development for Greater China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam. With a decade of experience in Asia, Bob has also held positions with the US-China Business Council and All China Market Research, a market research firm in Beijing. A native Texan and graduate of Stanford University, Bob currently splits his time between the Bay Area and Shanghai.

- Tarun Arora is a Co-founder of 3R-Data. Tarun is also the COO of GIST, India's leading content sales organization with sales to over 600 academic and research institutions and companies across India. Previously, Tarun founded and managed Gerson Lehrman Group's India operations, building a team of 120 professionals to support GLG's global research operations. A Texan by choice, Tarun holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas and a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin. He currently resides in Gurgaon, India.

- Gerardo Lara is Vice President, Business Development, at 3R-Data. A lawyer by training, Gerardo has melded his legal background with business acumen across a decade of launching new business lines in the technology and telecommunications eco-system. He has worked across various disciplines, including marketing, business development, and sales, and held executive roles with both established firms, like AT&T and Intel, start-ups, and AT Kearney, a top-tier strategy consulting firm. A native Californian, Gerardo completed his undergraduate degree at Stanford University, his JD at UCLA, and his MBA at Emory University. He is currently based in San Francisco.
